Changing Boundaries: Historic Maps of the U.S.-Mexico Border

From the Collection of Simon Burrow

Maps tell stories. The Latin American Studies Program and Cross Cultural Centers bring you this enlightening exhibit of historic maps. The maps examine the evolution of the US-Mexico border over the last four centuries. The exhibit answers questions about the Battle of Los Angeles, California's mistaken geography as an island and current immigration policy.

Saturday, January 29  - Saturday, February 26, 2011
Hours: Monday to Thursday and Saturday noon to 5 pm

The sponsors would like to invite you to a panel discussion and reception on:

A panel discussion of the border maps will take place in the U-SU Theater in the University Student Union.

At about 7:30 there will be a gala reception in the Fine Arts Gallery to view the exhibition. History will come to life.
